Teaching & Impartation
We have 30 years of Bible teaching experience. Over the years we have grown in our ability to present Bible stories and characters in ways that help others both understand and respond.
Our goal is to teach in submission to the Holy Spirit so that He can impart truth that brings encouragement, equipping, and direction for the listener to respond to. Teaching to give life not just knowledge.
Over the years we seen many people make dramatic life changes to pursue God’s will for their lives.
We have spent the last 9 years teaching week long courses, at the Baltic School of Ministry, on topics such as:
- The Holy Spirit
- Spiritual Disciplines
- The Church
Along with shorter seminars on God’s Word, Worship, and a variety of other topics.
Healing & Encouragement
In Luke chapter 4 we read the story of Jesus being led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit where he was tempted by the devil over 40 days. It’s interesting that after the 40 days the Bible tells us that Jesus returned to Galilee “in the power of the Spirit.” He then went directly to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and in the synagogue declares His action plan by quoting from Isaiah 61.
Isaiah 61:1-2 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’S favor.
After being a pastor for 30 years I can definitively state that I have never met a single person who has not been hurt and wounded in their life. Because of this fact and Jesus’ example in scripture, we take the healing of the brokenhearted very seriously. Of course, we pray for and have seen miraculous physical healings over the years, but the healing of hearts is absolutely necessary for an individual to fulfill their God given purpose.
Receiving & Giving
Lifted Hands’ mindset of missions is that we are being sent as a gift and we go to give in a variety of ways. This includes helping raise funds for smaller churches with little resources, church plants, children at risk/orphans, and the outreach, training and equipping of the upcoming generation, along with other various needs that we encounter.
Serving & Practical Helps
Wherever we go – we go submitted to local leadership, to served them and their efforts. Whether in the ministry of the Word, inside or outside the church, or by practical helps.
From helping rebuild homes after an earthquake in El Salvador, digging building foundations in a remote village in the jungle of Peru, cleaning and updating the apartment of a family in need, peeling potatoes during youth summer camps, picking up and delivering food for distribution to those in need – these are just some of the examples of the type of service that we have been a part of over the years.
Worship
We have 30 years experience of both leading worship and raising up worship leaders. This gives us the ability and understanding to help worship teams grow from a Biblical and practical stand point in leading their congregations into the presence of God.
Mentoring
We have 30 plus years of experience and understanding of both walking under and in authority. During that time, we have been raised up in ministry, been given responsibility of a church, and then raised up others and transitioned pastoral responsibility to them.
The great commission calls us to go into all the world and make disciples – not just believers – but disciples and a future leaders in the church. We always give priority to mentoring and counseling with pastors and future leaders through genuine relationship as formed by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
